In 2005, after completing his Fellowship programs in General Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at Banner Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Dr. Villegas joined Central Arizona Heart Specialists. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Davis in California and graduated from medical school at George Washington University Medical School in Washington, DC. His Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine were completed at Banner Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Villegas is the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center. He is Board Certified in – Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He has been involved in several research programs involving the Human Subject Protection Training, Sub-Investigator COOL RCN, COOL MI and has been influential in pursuing accreditation for Central Arizona Heart Specialists for its Echocardiography and Ultrasound Departments.
Hospital privileges include Banner Casa Grande Regional Hospital, Chandler Regional Medical Center, Banner Desert Medical Center, and Mercy Gilbert Hospitals. Dr. Villegas works closely in the East Valley and Casa Grande communities on hospital committees supporting continued improvements in patient care and outcomes.
Married for 25 years, Dr. Villegas has 4 children with whom he enjoys family activities such as movies, sports and family vacations.
Dr. Villegas has attained Fellowship status with both the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.
